Sensitive fiber optics are used as detection sensors applied mainly to physical barriers. Light travels through the optical fiber and reacts to external stimuli, generating signals that are analyzed to identify events such as intrusions.
The controller is an analyzer that receives information from the sensitive fiber optics to identify and classify threats or intrusions, while also eliminating potential false alarms.
Sensitive fiber optics are easy to install and can protect large perimeters. Since they are optical, they are immune to lightning, storms, and EMI/RFI interference, and are not subject to electric discharges as they carry no current. They also offer a very low false alarm rate, high reliability, and minimal maintenance costs due to their high MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).
